Love Thursday: Love in La Sila

Posted by: My Bella Vita on Thursday, November 20th, 2008

Sila, or La Sila in Italiano, is the name of the mountain range located in Calabria that encompasses three of Calabria’s provinces - Catanzaro, Cosenza and Crotone. Sila Piccola, or Little Sila is the name of the mountain range near Catanzaro - talk about charming …

I went last week to celebrate my 1st anniversary and imagine my surprise at spotting this heart-shaped leaf among the foliage.

La Sila is my favorite attraction in southern Italy, so instead of dedicating a singular post, I’m dedicating a series. Every Friday - until I run out of topics - will be dedicated to Sila … where to go … where to stay … where to eat.

So, come back tomorrow for the first installment of Sila Fridays!

I can’t wait to share it with you.

Aw come on–after all these Love Thursdays, you *had* to know you’d spot a heart-shaped leaf while celebrating your anniversary :)

I know, right?? I wasn’t even looking for it, though. It just “jumped” out at me.

Beautiful! It’s funny how my mind now subconsciously searches out hearts after seeing all those “love thursdays” out there! I’m excited to read about this mountain. You’re giving me more and more reasons to come for more than one night!

It is funny how our minds do that. I guess they really can be “trained!” And yes, please come!!

I was really hoping to see La Sila when I was in Italy this summer but I ran out of time :( Next time I’m there it’s going to be on the top of my list of places to go! :)

Definitely, LuLu. I’ll go with you. I *love* it!
