Ladies and Gentlemen

Raise your glasses…

Put a smile on your face…

Prepare to make a speech…

Oh, wait. That would be ME who has to make a speech, right?

Well, believe it or not (and trust me, I am still leery of celebration)

Il Cedro Bed and Breakfast

is

Officially Open

(Ringing bells and blowing whistles inserted here.)

But, in keeping with the “let’s-take-as-much-of-your-time-as-we-can” plan, it wasn’t easy.

This morning, Peppe called “Person #3″ who had our official paperwork. “Come on down,” she said, more or less, as this is a rough translation.

So, we did.

We arrive at her office and are told, among other things, that she is “out in giro“…argh!!!

My initial reaction was

But, then I thought, “Piano, piano…” She hasn’t given us the paper yet.

And, then…only 45 minutes (and two mistakes on her part) later…

Oh, yes, ladies and gentlemen. We have been waiting five messy months for this. Isn’t it bellissima?

Congratulations! Love those marche da bollo! I’ve never been to Calabria (saw it this past weekend from Messina though) but one of these days when I make it down there I’ll stop in with some salsa cruda. In bocca al lupo!

Do you have any guests yet? Probably by this time you forgot that’s what it was all about.

Congrats again. We’ll keep you in mind for future trips.

Now, you can concentrate on planning your wedding, or is someone else in Texas taking care of that?

Yeaaaaaay, AUGURI! Are you expecting any guests yet? It’s going to be an even more emotional day for you when those first guests appear. Best of luck to you both!

Cherrye,
Auguri and I’ll be down before too long. I had a great time with my sister and brother in law in the Parco Nazionale di Pollino. Next time I’ll go a little further down and stay down there. If you know of hiking trails around there then let me know. I just need someone to hike with like my sister and her husband.

Congratulations!!! I think you’ll find it’s lots of fun running a B&B. The best part is meeting new and interesting people and making them feel at home. The worst part is cleaning, cleaning, cleaning (but we hire someone to do that so no sweat.)

Anyway - I hope it all goes well!

Whatcha thinking?
