Back in the Saddle

You know how guilty you feel when you have a good friend you haven’t talked to in awhile? You are almost embarrassed to reconnect, for fear of what she may think, say, or do. I’d like to say that is how I feel now…writing on this blog again after so many months. I’d like to say I feel like that, but I don’t. Don’t get me wrong - it isn’t that I didn’t miss the blog, moreover, I am not sure the blog missed me. That being said - let me give you are brief rundown on my last 4 months.

July-Oct I went to TX. They have this little “law” here in Italy that says if you don’t have a visa, you can only stay 90 days inside the country - and then you have to stay 90 days out! So…I was out. It wasn’t bad, though. Peppe and I are used to spending time apart, so, even though I missed him, it wasn’t the end of the world for us. Plus, there are worse places you can be “stuck” than at home with your family. I got to be there for Cole’s first day of school, his 6th birthday, my sister’s birthday, daddy’s birthday….a lot of positive things, actually. And, my maw maw taught me how to make homemade buttermilk biscuits. I am actually pretty good at it. :)

I have been working like crazy since I have been back on a new company I co-founded with a friend. The website is www.redcouchcommunications.com. Ya’ll check it out if you get a chance. We create, design, and develop training and development options for higher education professionals….in layman’s terms - we write icebreakers and team building activities. Our main target market is Higher Education, but we also plan to market to youth groups, church groups, etc…

Also, the B&B is coming along quite nicely. I am glad to report that “the boys” didn’t make it look like a hospital without me here. Actually, we still have all of the decorating to do - and I am EXCITED about that. I have grand ideas…on a less-than-grand budget, but, hey - I love a good challenge!

And, that is pretty much my last 4 months in a nutshell…I haven’t done as much wedding planning as I should, but I have gotten a lot of great ideas. If YOU have any good wedding ideas or tips for me, PLEASE post them here. I need a “kick” to get me going again! And, if you don’t have wedding ideas -I’d love to hear from you anyway. :)
